I have been indulging in my most sinful indulgence…

SHUSSSSSHHHHH…. IT’S A SECRET!

It is stage acting.

Yes, I’m back to my old fun! I know my secret is safe with you!

In L.A. referring to oneself as an actor was the same as referring to oneself as a professional leper, if said actor did not have movie credits, kick ass connections or a reoccurring roll on a series.

Here in Vegas, I’m back to the art of it and the fun of it and I imagine it feels like the equivalent to what a heroine addict feels when s/he has been given a dose.

And it’s the good stuff… It’s pure and without any byproducts.

It’s comedy. It’s sketch. It’s improv. It’s messing with tourists and locals while in character.

So that’s my indulgence in debauchery.

And as my comedy group works on comedy, we look for the moralistic thrust behind it. If we make a poopoo joke or a bunch of poopoo jokes, we look for the through-line that can sort of be the “good word” that subtly hints underneath the content.

It’s not so pragmatic that it becomes annoying… It’s just like, “Ok, what we just did is funny. How can we make it stronger? How can we give it a “I learned something today” sort of thing like South Park does?

(I like to model the South Park writing style and career behavior, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are great inspirations to me).

Anyhoo, I’ll keep you posted on my latest indulgences and antics in the City of Sin.
