You know what I did? :-)
‘Member how I said I was going to do something I was afraid to do. Well I did it. I directed, produced and starred in a short film called Real vs. Reel which we shot and edited in less than 48 hours. In other words, it’s done! We actually finished it in less than 40 hours. The intention in getting it finished this fast was to be able to enter it in the 48 hour film festival (www.extremefilmmaker.com). I am very, very happy with how it came out and I will be sending it out to many festivals! And I am excited to do that again. It was a bit stressful, but really fun. And I met so many great people!
I feel like so much happened in the past month. It would have been great to document on the blog, but in the midst of it I was moving about a million miles a minute and so the idea of slowing down to blog seemed out of the question. Doing anything that was unrelated to pre-production seemed out of the question. For most of the month sleeping even seemed out of the question.
However, in the midst of pre-production for Real vs. Reel, I also shot a short called Outside the Box, directed by Jeremy Feig (same director as My Grapefruit My Father). That one was fun to shoot. I don’t know if Jeremy would appreciate me posting the details of the story on the internet before it’s finished, but I will say that it’s a comedy and should be hilarious when it’s complete!
I will be posting Real vs. Reel on ifilm soon, but I want to get copies out to the cast and crew before it goes “public”. I give notice when it’s up.
