10 Easy Steps

How to Use this Site

This site is set up to give you the information that you need to make your basic short film. There are links to more specific information that will improve and refine your ability to make a better film and to do it more cost efficiently, which will help you once you learned the basic process.

If you get stuck in a step (like finding the right actor), don’t get too caught up in that step. Continue looking for the actor, but also move into the next step.

The steps outlined are meant to be a rough framework. They frequently blend together when I am working and sometimes, what I needed in step 4 I don’t end up finding until a day or two before the shoot. Be flexible but diligent.

Your mantra for this process will be “READY FIRE AIM” (which I learned at Enlightened Warrior Training). See step 1 for more details.

If you like the products or affiliates posted here, please use the links on this site.

I do not earn any money from this site. I made this site because I felt it was important to put the information out there. Using the site is free, and that was a deliberate choice.

I do earn money, however, if you use the links to buy outside products. There is no additional cost to you for using my links, so I am requesting that if you like the site and find products with my affiliates that you like, that you use my links.

Additionally, I strive to get you the best deals on products with my affiliates, so if you find a better deal elsewhere on the net, please let me know and I will talk to my affiliate to match or beat the price that you have found.

So if you want to help me for helping you, use the links, and if you really fall in love with this site, mention this website in your “Special Thanks” credits of your first film. I would be honored to be there!

I truly hope this information helps you. Please let me know how you do, and/or if any additional information is needed on this site that you think would be helpful to you or other readers.

Now go do your art, have fun, meet the right people and build your career!
